Friends of Tiffin Music (FoTM)

For years, musicians at Tiffin School have outperformed musicians at many independent schools. Tiffin musicians are regularly invited to work with London’s major orchestras and choruses, including the LSO, Philharmonia and Royal Opera, performing at venues including the RAH, RFH and Barbican. They have appeared on national radio and on television (BBC, ITV and Classic FM), and have performed on tour in Europe, China and Australasia. A remarkable number of Tiffin pupils have received music scholarships to study at top universities, including Cambridge and Oxford.

This success reflects the ambition and dedication of these pupils, their parents, and staff. To be the best requires all parties to go the extra mile. We wish to continue to offer Tiffin pupils these exceptional opportunities but, as the gap between independent and state school funding continues to widen, we fear that state educated pupils will be left behind. As state funding increasingly provides only a basic education, excelling in a wide range of fields beyond this could become the preserve of an independently educated elite.

The Friends of Tiffin Music raise funds through annual subscriptions and a range of activities such as running bars at concerts, Music Quiz evenings and producing CDs.

For all their information please see the Tiffin School Music website.

Because of Covid the pupils have not been able to perform live and performances have been shown via YouTube. They can be viewed here.

FoTM and the TPA have joined efforts this year to organise a virtual Tiffin in the Garden and information can be found here.
